OUR MISSION

The Extended Learning Program, in continuing partnership with families, schools, and community, supports academic success and social development for youth. We support a stronger Racine community through after school enrichment programs in the arts, literacy, math, science, culture, health and wellness and mentoring.

THE PROGRAM

Racine Unified School District Extended Learning Program has expanded to include programs at elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, community buildings, and Mentoring.

The elementary program focuses on strengthening academic achievement and social growth by offering unique learning opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. Some of the classes that we offer are academic support, enrichment classes in art, culture, leadership, recreational fitness, technology, and social and emotional growth in many elementary schools. We partner with youth serving organizations. The programs are funded through grants and district funds. See below for general site information. *All site information is subject to change

Weekly fees apply for Classes; $10 full priced lunch, $5 reduced price lunch, no charge for free lunch status. (No fees for Goodland and Red Apple per their Grants)

Gifford and O.Brown Fees: Ten week module fees apply for Classes; $10 full price lunch, $5 reduced price lunch, no charge for free lunch status.

The middle and high school programs provide students with a safe learning place to engage in academic help, career exploration, clubs and enrichment activities. This initiative is funded through U.S. Department of Education 21st CLC grants, RUSD funds, and community partner funding. Site Coordinators will enroll students at each site. Parents will receive a confirmation letter in the mail and/or a phone call if accepted into the Program.
